Synopsis
THE SIXTH AND FINAL BOOK IN THE CAPTIVATING SERIES WHICH FOLLOWS THE LIVES OF BETH AND ALEX MACGREGOR, THEIR FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
Alex, now believing Beth to be alive, leaves Scotland and heads south to keep the promise he made to her at Culloden, determined to be reunited with his wife regardless of the danger to himself.
Meanwhile the Duke of Newcastle has realised that he cannot kill Beth, either publicly or privately, without attracting the enmity of powerful people, including the heir to the throne. He hits upon a way of being rid of her forever; transportation to Antigua as an indentured servant for life. By this deed he hopes that the terrible conditions on the sugar plantations will achieve the much-desired death of the woman who has defied him for so long.
Things do not go according to plan and soon Beth finds her life going in a direction neither she nor Newcastle could have foreseen, which leads her to make a decision that could have a terrible impact on Alex as he attempts to discover her whereabouts.

Is there more? Other story’s about the characters that I have found to love? Do Beth and Alex have a boy or girl?
Hello! Thanks for your comment! At the moment I’m finishing off the back story of Sarah, and will be writing the back stories of a few of the other characters too. I’m also researching the historical detail for the next series, which will in a way be a prequel to the Jacobite Chronicles (but can be read independently) which will go back to the start of the Jacobite cause, (1688) and move forward, and will feature Ealasaid, Graeme, Beth’s mother Ann etc. I hope to start writing that series next year. I am now looking to write another series looking into the future, when the children of the Angus, Alex, Sarah, Caroline etc are grown,(due to lots of readers asking me to!) but will need to research that future period too for it, so it’s on hold at the moment. Hope that answers your question! Hoping to get Sarah’s book out this year.
Oh I’m so excited to read this,,,, I feel like I know all your characters so well and you keep me in stitches ,,, laughing at the different happenings. I will be listening again to the beginning of your books as now I know all your characters so well
Oh thank you! I’m so glad you love my characters! It’s very kind of you to take the time to let me know. xx
Any updates on the Audio version of the final book. I’m not sure I can wait to finish the chronicles for very long. It has been such an amazing journey. Your writing describes these historical events with such clarity, and the narration of Rosalyn Landor and Will M. Watt’s ability to bring each character to life with incredible depth has made this most enjoyable, 5 Stars! It created a visible experience as well as audible. Please do not bring Lucy Rayner back for the final book. Her sing song voice and ending of each sentence in a higher note made it so difficult to follow. And Beth’s voice lacked all of its previous tenacity.
Thank you so much for your lovely comments about my audiobooks. Tides of Fortune has been recorded, and is now in the editing stage. I’m hoping to get it over to Audible in the next couple of weeks or so (it’s a long-winded process!) After that it’s down to how long it takes Audible to approve it. Hopefully not too long, although it seems to be taking them longer and longer to approve books.
